How to check the firmware version of your drive

Method 1.  With the tool supplied by Pioneer
Click the below program button. The firmware version of your drive is checked automatically. The program is effective for Windows OSes (Windows98/ME/2000 /XP) only.

Method 2.  Without using the above tool
Please note that the firmware checking process varies dependent upon the OS and the application software.

 
* For Windows95/98/ME/NT the firmware version is identified by the OS.
< 95/98/Me >
 
  1. Open the Control Panel from the My Computer.
     
  2. Open the System Icon on the Control Panel.
     
  3. Select the Device Manager from the System Property.
     
  4. Select 'CD-ROM'.
     
  5. Select the drive model name and open its property to identify the firmware version.
     

< NT >
 

  1. Open the Control Panel from the My Computer
     
  2. Open the SCSI Adaptor on the Control Panel
     
  3. Open the drive property from the IDE Controller to identify the firmware version
     
 
 
* Identifying the firmware version by the bundled write application software.
(Procedure is the same for Windows95/98/Me/2000/XP)

*With InstantCD+DVD by Proton Co.(previously SoftBoat Co.)
 
  1. Launch the application software.
     
  2. Start up the Instant Disc and close its wizard(the message welcome to InstantDisc).
     
  3. Select the DVD-RW drive indicated upper left corner of the application.
     
  4. Click the file button.
     
  5. Open the property on the file to check the firmware version.
     


*With Prassi PrimoDVD 2.0(Japanese) by Easy Systems Japan Co.
 

  1. Launch the application software.
     
  2. Click the Main Application(F) located lower right of PrimoDVD starter.
     
  3. Select the disc icon of DVD-R/RW drive which locates upper right of Prassi Primo DVD2.0 screen.
     
  4. Select the "Drive(D)" on the menu, then select "The Disc Explorer(E) F4" further.
     
  5. The firmware version is identified with the drive name on the upper left of the Disc Explorer.
